Portrait Painting
In this course, students will continue developing their painting skills while mastering portraiture. This course will combine drawing and painting, as the first lesson of the course will focus on drawing exercises to develop an understanding of the proportions and bone structure of the face. After familiarizing oneself with the portrait through drawing, students will work on a portrait painting during the remaining sessions.

There is flexibility for more abstract or realistic approaches to the portrait, and different methods can be explored in the class depending on the preference of each individual student. There will be demonstrations as the instructor creates a portrait painting along with the students to demonstrate each step. Students will learn how to mix skin tones and also learn how more experimental colors can be used while still rendering form.

Each student will receive one-on-one feedback from the instructor as they develop their work.

*Students must to provide their own canvas. The material fee covers the use of oil paint, painting mediums, brushes, collage materials, drawing supplies, etc.
Class policy for refunds and missed classes:
For group courses, to reserve you place you must register and send confirmation of payment in advance. The course fee is fully refundable up to 2 weeks before the first day of class, and a 50% refund is available up to 1 week before the first day of class. Classes that are canceled due to public holiday or at the instructor's discretion are listed in the course schedule. Any additional cancelations by the instructor will be rescheduled or refunded. The fee for any missed classes will not be refunded.
